District Performance Management Mid-Year Evaluations are open now in PeopleSoft and offer a great opportunity to evaluate your successes and challenges to decide how you will end the fiscal year on a high note. Take a look at the Performance Management Resources available in the newsletter and get ready for your mid-year evaluation if you haven’t started already. Mid-Year evaluations are due by June 30th.

This series will focus on the skills and competencies important to the growth and development of the 21st Century Public Health Professional. This means exploring individual behaviors and best practices consistent with personal and team effectiveness in today's Public Health environment. The learning series will also address skill development in the following Core Competency for Public Health Professionals areas: (1) Communication and (2) Leadership and Systems Thinking

Learn at your own pace with an online learning plan curated by the DC Health Learning and Development Team to provide 1-2 hours of on-demand learning series training in the Percipio Learning Management System (LMS). The quarterly learning plan "DC Health Quarterly Learning Series: FY2023, Quarter 3" is automatically assigned to all DC Health employees in Percipio and an automated notification is sent from the system with a link to complete the following recommended courses:

District Performance Management Mid-Year Evaluations

A total of 98% of DC Health employees have a performance plan in place for FY 2023. The next step in the performance management process is Mid-Year Performance Evaluations, which are required for all District employees and must be completed from March 1 - April 30 in PeopleSoft. Please reference the resources below on how to complete the mid-year evaluation process.

HAHSTA Trusted Adult Lunch & Learn Series

Parents, grandparents, and caregivers of all kinds struggle to talk about topics like puberty, sex, and sexuality with the young people they care about. Sure, these conversations are important, but how do you bring it up? When do you it? What do you say? Can’t somebody else do it???
Join the HAHSTA Youth Team for this two-part lunch & learn series as we explore why “The Talk” can be so difficult and how anyone can become more confident discussing sexual health. You’ll leave with new perspectives, tools, and techniques you can use to become the Trusted Adult that every young person needs in their life. This training was developed in response to requests from the community, and we are excited to bring it to our DOH colleagues as part of its launch.

Take a Break: Social Support for the Public Health Workforce
It’s no secret that today’s public health workers face more demands than ever before. It is especially important to continue to foster your personal good health while taking care of others. MAR-PHTC offers the free virtual group, Take a Break, to provide an informal, facilitated outlet designed just for public health workers to focus on their own emotional health and well-being. The group meets monthly to provide participants with a supportive place to discuss their experiences, concerns, successes, and ideas with others who can relate and understand. You may even choose to engage using an alias. Make the time to join the group for connection and camaraderie today!

Community Participation and Power
This interactive webinar focuses on the continuum of community participation as a strategy for engaging leaders to improve health outcomes. Participants will assess who is represented in collaborative efforts to ensure equitable participation and inclusion. Participants will discuss expressions of power and the types and distribution of power and leverage their understanding of power dynamics to create more equitable and inclusive partnerships. This course includes a variety of instructional methods including group discussion, break-out sessions, and hands-on learning activities and exercises.
