Message from Lucinda, the Deputy Mayor
Hi DC! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving, and are looking forward to the upcoming holiday season with anticipation! I sure am!
This time of the year, I always get excited about gift giving—and getting—and if you are looking for a job, the District government has plenty of gifts under the tree! #DCIsHiring and has job opportunities for various skill sets, from administrative to managerial. As Mayor Bowser says, through hard work and innovation, DC has come back stronger and better than ever through the pandemic, and we want District residents to join us for our comeback. In the DMOI group of agencies alone, more than 30 positions are currently available! We are like Santa Claus and want to give ALL of these jobs to qualified candidates, so don’t delay, apply today!
I also get pumped about what the upcoming new year will bring, and in 2023, that means some big things for the District government, thanks to Mayor Bowser’s unprecedented third term! Right after her election in November, the Mayor launched together.dc.gov and called on residents to submit their big ideas for the next four years. She set up a diverse transition team, co-led by DMOI’s own Tommy Wells, the Director of the Department of Energy and Environment, to help her get community feedback. But they can’t do this without YOU! The changing of the year is a great time to write down a vision—not just for you, but for our great city! Share your thoughts here; it only takes a minute to provide input that could shape the District for years to come!
Happy Holidays!
