Temporary Lane Closures on I-295 NB & SB from October 28 to October 31, 2022
Washington, D.C.) —The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close multiple lanes on I-295 NB and SB between Malcolm X Ave SE and 11th Street SW. I-295 SB will have two left lanes closed from 11th Street to Firth Sterling Ave starting 10/28 at 9:00 PM to 10/31 at 5:00 AM. I-295 NB will have two right lanes closed from Malcolm X Ave to Howard Rd starting 10/28 at 9:00 PM to 10/31 at 5:00 AM.
These closures are necessary for construction activities associated with the South Capitol Street Corridor Project which includes construction of the New Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge and the reconstruction of the I-295/ Suitland Parkway interchange.
Please observe the posted speed limit and proceed through the construction area with caution.
