Temporary Lane Closures for I-295 Corridor Improvement Project through October 28, 2022
Washington, D.C.) —The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close lanes on the following roadways for bridge preventative maintenance construction activities beginning October 17 through October 28, 2022, weather permitting.
Operation hours and locations are listed below:
Theodore Roosevelt Bridge Ramps C, D and E to/from Rte 50- BR.1200- Theodore Roosevelt Bridge Ramps C, D & E to/from Rte 50- partial ramp closures needed for both Eastbound Ramp C and Westbound Ramp D and E. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Ramp will remain open to traffic but will be partially closed to facilitate work underneath the ramps. Partial ramp closures will be between the hours of 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM, weather permitting on Monday, October 17 through Friday, October 28, 2022.
Southeast Freeway over 8th Street S.E.- BR.1401 single lane closures needed on Southeast Freeway. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting Monday, October 17 through Friday, October 28, 2022.
11th Street over Anacostia River- BR.1415- single lane closures needed on 11th Street. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting on Monday, October 17 through Friday, October 28, 2022.
I-695 Southbound over Anacostia River- BR.1416- single lane closures needed on I-695 Southbound. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting on Monday, October 17 through Friday, October 28, 2022.
I-695 Northbound over Anacostia River- BR.1417- single lane closures needed on I-695 Northbound. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting on Monday, October 17 through Friday, October 28, 2022.
Connecticut Ave over Rock Creek and Beach Drive- BR.029 - single lane closures needed on Connecticut Ave. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting on Monday, October 17 through Friday, October 28, 2022.
New York Ave over Amtrak and CSX- BR. 534- single lane closures needed on New York Ave. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting on Monday, October 17 through Friday, October 28, 2022.
Malcom X Ave over South Capitol Street- BR.44- Night-single Lane closures needed on Malcolm X Ave. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM, weather permitting on Monday, October 17 through Friday, October 28, 2022.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
