Temporary Closures for DC PLUG Feeder 368 Project From September 19 through September 30, 2022
Washington, D.C.) —The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will have temporary single lane, sidewalk, and shoulder closures or shifts to perform construction activities as part of the DC PLUG Feeder 368 project beginning September 19, 2022, weather permitting.
Daily closures will take place between 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. We are encouraging the use of alternate routes to avoid delays as a result of the work being performed.
The parameters for the lane and sidewalk closures/shift are as follows:
Alabama Ave, SE – Lane shift & Shoulder Closure
A lane shift and shoulder closure will occur daily between 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Alabama Ave SE from Barker Lane S.E. to Beck Street S.E.
Alabama Ave SE – Lane shift & Shoulder Closure
A lane shift & shoulder closure will occur daily between 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Alabama Ave S.E. from Burns Lane S.E. to Stanley Street S.E.
Burns Lane SE & Alabama Ave SE – Lane Shift
A single lane shift will occur daily between 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Burns Lane S.E. and Alabama Ave S.E. from Alabama Ave S.E and Burns Lane S.E. to Southern Ave S.E. and Ridged Street S.E.
Alabama Ave SE – Lane Shift
A single lane shift will occur daily between 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Alabama Ave S.E. from Stanley S.E. to Ridged Street S.E.
Alabama Ave SE – Lane Shift & Shoulder Closure
A single lane shift & shoulder closure will occur daily between 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Alabama Ave S.E. from Massachusetts Ave S.E. & Q Street S.E. to Q Street S.E. & Massachusetts Ave S.E.
Easy Place SE – Lane Shift
A single lane shift will occur daily between 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Easy Place S.E. from Southern Ave S.E. to 46th Street S.E.
Easy Place SE & 46th Street SE – Lane Shift
A single lane shift will occur daily between 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Easy Place S.E. & 46th Street S.E. from 46th Street S.E. & Reed Terrace, S.E. to Southern Ave S.E. and Bowen Road S.E.
46th Street SE – Lane Shift
A single lane shift will occur daily between 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on 46th Street S.E. from Reed Terrace, S.E. to Easy Place S.E.
Traffic controls will be in place to guide all users of the roadway and sidewalks through the work zones safely. Motorists should expect delays due to the lane closures and are advised to stay alert and be observant of signage and road work crews while traveling in this area.
Printed notices will be distributed to residents, businesses and other stakeholders within the immediate project area.
These closures are required for construction activities associated with the following DDOT project:

The District of Columbia Power Line Undergrounding (DC PLUG) initiative is a partnership between the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) and Pepco to improve the resiliency and reliability of the District of Columbia electric system by placing select systems underground. Feeders are primary distribution power lines that provide services to approximately 1,100 residents within a specific neighborhood.
