Temporary Lane Closures for Routine Bridge and Tunnel Inspection
Washington, D.C.) —The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for bridge and tunnel inspections:
Firth Sterling Avenue, S.E. under Anacostia Freeway (I-295), a right closure of Eastbound Firth Sterling Avenue, S.E. under Anacostia Freeway (I-295) followed by a right closure of Westbound Firth Sterling Avenue, S.E. under Anacostia Freeway (I-295) on Tuesday, September 13th, 2022, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
Anacostia Freeway (I-295) over Firth Sterling Avenue, S.E. and Abandoned CSXT Railroad, alternating right and left lane closures of Southbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295) over Firth Sterling Avenue, S.E. and Abandoned CSXT Railroad followed by alternating right and left lane closures of Northbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295) over Firth Sterling Avenue, S.E. and Abandoned CSXT Railroad on Wednesday, September 14th, 2022, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
