Temporary Closures for DC PLUG Feeder 368 Project from August 22 through August 28, 2022
Washington, D.C.) —The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will have temporary single lane, sidewalk, and shoulder closures or shifts to perform construction activities as part of the DC PLUG Feeder 368 project beginning August 22, 2022, weather permitting.
Daily closures will take place between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. We are encouraging the use of alternate routes to avoid delays as a result of the work being performed.
The parameters for the lane and sidewalk closures/shift are as follows:
Bowen Road SE– Lane Shift
A single lane shift will occur shift daily between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Bowen Road S.E. from Burns St. S.E. to Ridge Road S.E.
41st Street SE – Lane Shift
A single lane shift will occur daily between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on 41St Street SE from Alabama Avenue S.E. to Fort Dupont Street S.E.
Alabama Ave SE – Lane Shift & Shoulder Closure
A single lane shift and shoulder closure will occur daily between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Alabama Ave S.E. from Baker Lane S.E. to Beck Street S.E.
Alabama Ave SE – Lane Shit
A single lane shift will occur daily between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Alabama Ave S.E. from Massachusetts Avenue S.E. to 41st Street S.E.
Alabama Ave SE – Lane Shift
A single lane shift will occur daily between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Alabama Ave S.E. from 41st Street S.E. to Boulevard Lane S.E.
Alabama Ave SE – Lane Shift
A single lane shift will occur daily between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Alabama Ave S.E. from Q Street S.E. to R Street S.E.
Easy Place SE – Lane Shift
A single lane shift will occur daily between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Easy Place S.E. from Southern Ave. to R Street S.E.
Traffic controls will be in place to guide all users of the roadway and sidewalks through the work zones safely. Motorists should expect delays due to the lane closures and are advised to stay alert and be observant of signage and road work crews while traveling in this area.
Printed notices will be distributed to residents, businesses and other stakeholders within the immediate project area.
These closures are required for construction activities associated with the following DDOT project:
District of Columbia Power Line Undergrounding (DC PLUG)
The District of Columbia Power Line Undergrounding (DC PLUG) initiative is a partnership between the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) and Pepco to improve the resiliency and reliability of the District of Columbia electric system by placing select systems underground. Feeders are primary distribution power lines that provide services to approximately 1,100 residents within a specific neighborhood.
