Temporary Closures for Routine Bridge and Tunnel Inspections through August 5, 2022
Washington, D.C.) —The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close lanes on the following roadways for bridge preventative maintenance construction activities beginning July 31 through August 5, 2022, weather permitting.
Operation hours and locations are listed below:
Theodore Roosevelt Bridge over Potomac Parkway- BR. 1200- Day- right lane westbound remains closed to vehicular traffic. Single temporary lane closure needed for eastbound and westbound on Theodore Roosevelt Bridge during the hours of 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Three lanes in each direction currently open to traffic. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be in effect weather permitting on Monday, August 1 through Friday, August 5, 2022.
Theodore Roosevelt Bridge Ramps C, D and E to/from Rte 50- Day- Theodore Roosevelt Bridge Ramps C, D & E to/from Rte 50- partial ramp closures needed for both Eastbound Ramp C and Westbound Ramp D and E. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Ramp will remain open to traffic, but will be partially closed to facilitate work underneath the ramps. Partial ramp closures will be between the hours of 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, weather permitting on Monday August 1 through Friday, August 5, 2022.

Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Ramp will remain open to traffic but will be partially closed to facilitate work underneath the ramps. Partial ramp closures will be between the hours of 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, weather permitting on Sunday July 31 through Friday, August 5, 2022.
George Washington Parkway- single lane closure will be implemented and only one lane will be available for through traffic during night-time for maintenance underneath TR Bridge from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Lane closures will take place, weather permitting on Sunday July 31 through Friday, August 5, 2022. Proper variable message board and traffic control devices will be in place to notify the public of changes.
Ramp from I-66 to Whitehurst Freeway over Potomac Parkway and Rock Creek-BR.1303- Single lane closure needed on Rock Creek Parkway. Partial ramp closure needed on the Ramps to/from Rock Creek Parkway. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, weather permitting on Monday August 1 through Friday, August 5, 2022.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
