Temporary Closures for Routine Bridge and Tunnel Inspections through July 15, 2022
Washington, D.C.) —The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close lanes and shoulders on the following roadways to perform bridge inspections.
Work is scheduled to take place during daytime off-peak hours (9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) starting Monday, July 11, extending weekdays through Friday, July 15, 2022. These closure dates and times are contingent on suitable weather, field conditions, and/or adjacent construction activities.
K Street NW between 25th Street NW and 29th Street NW – Single Lane closures will be in place for eastbound and westbound traffic on K Street NW between 25th Street NW and 29th Street NW.
Rock Creek Parkway between K Street NW and Pennsylvania Avenue NW – Single Lane closures will be in place for northbound and southbound traffic on Rock Creek Parkway between K Street NW and Pennsylvania Avenue NW.
I-395 Center Leg under Constitution Ave., Pennsylvania Ave., Independence Ave., Washington Ave., and Maryland Ave., alternating right and left lane closures of the Northbound I-395 Center Leg under Constitution Ave., Pennsylvania Ave., Independence Ave., Washington Ave., and Maryland Ave. on Wednesday, July 13th, 2022, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting
I-395 Center Leg under Constitution Ave., Pennsylvania Ave., Independence Ave., Washington Ave., and Maryland Ave., alternating right and left lane closures of the Northbound I-395 Center Leg under Constitution Ave., Pennsylvania Ave., Independence Ave., Washington Ave., and Maryland Ave. on Friday, July 15th, 2022, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
Theodore Roosevelt Bridge over Potomac Parkway- BR. 1200- right lane westbound remains closed to vehicular traffic. Single temporary lane closure needed for eastbound and westbound on Theodore Roosevelt Bridge during the hours of 9:00 PM to 5 AM. Three lanes in each direction currently open to traffic. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be in effect for 24 hours, weather permitting on Monday, July 11 through Friday, July 15, 2022
Theodore Roosevelt Bridge Ramps C and D to/from Rte 50- Theodore Roosevelt Bridge Ramps C and D to/from Rte 50- partial ramp closures needed for both Eastbound Ramp C and Westbound Ramp D. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Ramp will remain open to traffic, but will be partially closed to facilitate work underneath the ramps. Partial ramp closures will be between the hours of 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, weather permitting on Monday July 11 through Friday, July 15, 2022.
DC I-295 over Nicholson Street Bridge-BR. 1001, Northbound/Southbound- alternating single lane closure will be implemented and only one lane will be available for through traffic during night-time for bridge resurfacing work from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Heavy congestion expected during this operation and travelers are advised to seek alternate route. Lane closures will take place, weather permitting on Monday July 11 through Friday, July 15, 2022. Proper variable message board and traffic control devices will be in place to notify the public of changes.
Ramp from I-66 to Whitehurst Freeway over Potomac Parkway and Rock Creek-BR.1303- partial ramp closure needed on the Ramp from I-66 to Whitehurst Freeway. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, weather permitting on Monday July 11 through Friday, July 15, 2022.
Taylor Street NE over CSX-BR.571-single lane closures needed on Taylor Street NE. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM, weather permitting on Monday July 11 through Friday, July 15, 2022.
New York Avenue over Anacostia River- BR.076 single lane closures needed on New York Ave. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting on Monday, July 11 through Friday, July 15, 2022.
Massachusetts Avenue over Rock Creek- BR.114- single lane closures needed on Massachusetts Ave. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting on Monday, July 11 through Friday, July 15, 2022
Traffic controls, including signage, will be in place to guide motorists and pedestrians safely through the work zones. All roadway users are advised to stay alert and be observant of signage and work zones while traveling in this area.
