Temporary Closures for Routine Bridge Maintenance in Multiple Locations from July 5 through July 8, 2022
Washington, D.C.) —The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close lanes on the following roadways for bridge preventative maintenance construction activities beginning July 5 through July 8, 2022, weather permitting.
Operation hours and locations are listed below:
Theodore Roosevelt Bridge over Potomac Parkway- BR. 1200- right lane westbound remains closed to vehicular traffic. Three lanes in each direction currently open to traffic. Single temporary lane closure needed for eastbound and westbound on Theodore Roosevelt Bridge during the hours of 9:30 AM to 3PM. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be in effect for 24 hours, weather permitting on Tuesday, July 5 through Friday, July 8, 2022
DC I-295 over Nicholson Street Bridge-BR. 1001, Northbound/Southbound- alternating single lane closure will be implemented and only one lane will be available for through traffic during night-time for bridge resurfacing work from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Heavy congestion expected during this operation and travelers are advised to seek alternate route. Lane closures will take place, weather permitting on Tuesday July 5 through Friday, July 8, 2022. Proper variable message board and traffic control devices will be in place to notify the public of changes.
D Street NW over I-395 Tunnel- BR.1138- single lane closures needed for both D Street and I-395. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, weather permitting on Tuesday July 5 through Friday, July 8, 2022.
Ramp from I-66 to Whitehurst Freeway over Potomac Parkway and Rock Creek-BR.1303- partial ramp closure needed on the Ramp from I-66 to Whitehurst Freeway. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, weather permitting on Tuesday July 5 through Friday, July 8, 2022.
Taylor Street NE over CSX-BR.571-single lane closures needed on Taylor Street NE. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM, weather permitting on Tuesday July 5 through Friday, July 8, 2022.
DC I-295 over CSX Railroad Yard- BR. 505- single lane closures needed for northbound and southbound on DC I-295. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM, weather permitting on Tuesday, July 5 through Friday, July 8, 2022.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
