Extended Holiday Hours Guidance | Independence Day

In recognition of Independence Day, alcohol establishments enrolled in the Extended Holiday Hours Program may sell, serve, and allow on-premises consumption of alcohol until 4:00 a.m. and operate 24-hours starting the evening of Friday, July 1 and ending at 4:00 a.m. on Monday, July 4.

Licensees may confirm their enrollment by locating their establishment’s name on the Extended Hours Eligible Establishments | Independence Day 2022 roster. If you believe your establishment was omitted by error, email abc@dc.gov.

The next holiday period eligible for extended hours is Labor Day Weekend running the evening of Friday, September 2 and ending at 4:00 a.m. on Monday, September 5. The registration deadline is Monday, August 8.

There is no fee to apply or participate. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and once approved, establishments are eligible to participate in all future permitted holidays following. Additional details available on ABRA’s website.

Board Orders and Settlement Agreements apply to enrolled and prospective registrants. 

Please note that ABRA’s office will be closed in observance of Independence Day on Monday, July 4, and will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5.
