Temporary Lane Closures for Routine Inspections from June 13 through June 18, 2022
Washington, D.C.) —The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close lanes on the following roadways for bridge preventative maintenance construction activities beginning June 13 through June 18, 2022, weather permitting.
Operation hours and locations are listed below:
Theodore Roosevelt Bridge over Potomac Parkway- BR. 1200- single lane closure needed for eastbound and westbound on Theodore Roosevelt Bridge. Two lanes will always be opened for traffic in both directions. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be in effect for 24 hours, weather permitting on Monday, June 13 through Saturday, June 18, 2022.
DC I-295 over Nicholson Street Bridge-BR. 1001,Southbound- Two right lane closures on SB DC-295 including right shoulder on the bridge leaving two left lanes open to traffic during the daytime. Additional one lane closure will be implemented and only one lane will be available for through traffic during night-time for bridge resurfacing work from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am. Heavy congestion expected during this operation and travelers are advised to seek alternate route. Daytime closures will remain 24-hours for the entire week; additional temporary night-time lane closures will be between 8:00 pm and 5:00 am. The anticipated work is expected to occur during the week of June 13 through June 17, 2022. Proper variable message board and traffic control devices will be in place to notify the public of changes.
D Street NW over I-395 Tunnel- BR.1138- single lane closures needed for both D Street and I-395. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, weather permitting on Monday June 13 through Friday, June 17, 2022.
Ramp from I-66 to Whitehurst Freeway over Potomac Parkway and Rock Creek-BR.1303- partial ramp closure needed on the Ramp from I-66 to Whitehurst Freeway. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, weather permitting on Monday June 13 through Friday, June 17, 2022.
Taylor Street NE over CSX-BR.571-single lane closures needed on Taylor Street NE. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM, weather permitting on Monday June 13 through Friday, June 17, 2022.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
