Temporary Lane Closures for the Rehabilitation of 16th Street Bridge over Piney Branch, Pkwy, NW Project from Monday, June 6 through Friday, June 10, 2022
Washington, D.C.) —The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) anticipates the implementation of the following temporary lane closures on the Piney Branch Parkway, NW (from Arkansas Avenue, NW to Beech Drive) and on the 16th Street Bridge, as part of the on-going 16th Street Bridge rehabilitation work, beginning on Monday, June 06, 2022, and to last through Friday, June 10, 2022, weather permitting to necessitate the following:
Monday 6/06 through Friday 6/10
Temporary flagging on Piney Branch Pkwy to allow vehicles and equipment to enter or exit the project area for demo shield install, overhang install, and unloading of materials into the yard.
Traffic on 16th Street Bridge – Reduced to 3 lanes
East Sidewalk Closure and Detour
Pedestrian are advised to use the West Sidewalk for north-south access across the bridge
Except for Phase 1 MOT closures, all closures will take place Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to 3:00 pm, weekdays.
Motorists are urged to use caution as they travel in these areas, to anticipate moderate delays, and to be mindful of construction personnel.
