Temporary Lane Closure for 16th Street Bridge Rehabilitation Project from May 23 through May 27, 2022
Washington, D.C.) —The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) anticipates the implementation of the following temporary lane closures on the Piney Branch Parkway, NW (from Arkansas Avenue, NW to Beech Drive) and on the 16th Street Bridge, as part of the on-going 16th Street Bridge rehabilitation work, beginning on Monday, May 23, 2022, and to last through Friday, May 27, 2022, weather permitting to necessitate the following:
Monday 5/23 through Friday 5/27
One lane closure on Piney Branch Parkway for offload of deliveries into the staging area
Long Term
Phase 1 MOT on 16th Street Bridge
Phase 1 MOT on 16th Street Bridge – Reduced to 3 lanes
East Sidewalk Closure
Pedestrian are advised to use the West Sidewalk for north-south access across the bridge
Night Work Closure
When:12:00AM Wednesday 5/25 through Wednesday 5/25 morning
Operation: Remove existing and place Phase 1 temporary pavement markings
These closures will take place Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to 3:00 pm, weekdays.
Motorists are urged to use caution as they travel in these areas, to anticipate moderate delays, and to be mindful of construction personnel.
