Temporary Lane Closures on 16th Street Bridge and Piney Branch Parkway through May 6, 2022
Washington, D.C.) —The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) anticipates the implementation of the following temporary/mobile lane closures on the 16th St Bridge to necessitate installation of curb inlet protection and tree protection fence along curb lane, and on the Piney Branch Parkway, NW (from Arkansas Avenue, NW to Beech Drive) to get delivery trucks in and out of the ROW and off load materials into the staging area between Friday, April 28, 2022 and to last through Friday, May 06, 2022, weather permitting as follows:
Thursday and Friday 4/28 and 4/29
Mobile work zone on 16th Street for installation of curb inlet protection and tree protection fence along curb lane
Intermittent flagging on Piney Branch to get delivery trucks in and out of the ROW.
Monday 5/2
Mobile work zone on 16th Street for finishing installation of tree protection fence
Monday 5/2 through Friday 5/6
One lane closure on Piney Branch to off load materials into the staging area
Intermittent flagging when a full lane closure is not needed and the vehicle can fully pull into the ROW
These closures will take place Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to 3:00 pm, weekdays.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
