Temporary Lane Closures for I-66 Bridge Inspections from May 2 through May 6, 2022
Washington, D.C.) —The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close lanes and shoulders on the following roadways to perform bridge inspections. Work is scheduled to take place during daytime off-peak hours (9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) starting Monday, May 2, extending through Friday, May 6, 2022. These closure dates and times are contingent on suitable weather, field conditions, and/or adjacent construction activities.
Ramp from I-66 Westbound to Whitehurst Freeway – Lanes will narrow on the ramp from I-66 Westbound to the Whitehurst Freeway.
Ramp from K Street Westbound to Rock Creek Parkway – Lanes will narrow on the ramp from K Street Westbound to Rock Creek Parkway.
K Street NW between 25th Street NW and 29th Street NW – Single Lane closures will be in place for eastbound and westbound traffic on K Street NW between 25th Street NW and 29th Street NW.
Rock Creek Parkway between K Street NW and Pennsylvania Avenue NW – Single Lane closures will be in place for northbound and southbound traffic on Rock Creek Parkway between K Street NW and Pennsylvania Avenue NW.
Rock Creek Trail, between K Street NW and Pennsylvania Avenue NW – Single Lane Flagging operations will be in place for pedestrian and bicycle traffic on the Rock Creek Trail between K Street NW and Pennsylvania Avenue NW.
Traffic controls, including signage, will be in place to guide motorists and pedestrians safely through the work zones. All roadway users are advised to stay alert and be observant of signage and work zones while traveling in this area.
