Temporary Lane Closures for Routine Bridge Maintenance through April 30, 2022
Washington, D.C.) —The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close lanes on the following roadways for bridge preventative maintenance construction activities through April 30, 2022, weather permitting.
Operation hours and locations are listed below:
Theodore Roosevelt Bridge over Potomac Parkway- BR.1200, single lane closure needed for eastbound and westbound on Theodore Roosevelt Bridge. Two lanes will always be opened for traffic in both directions. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be in effect for 24 hours, weather permitting on Monday, April 25th through Saturday, April 30th, 2022.
14th Street over Maine Ave., Channel and Ohio Dr., BR. 171-1, 171-2 & 171-3- single lane closures needed on 14th Street Bridges. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closure will be between the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting Monday, April 25th through Friday, April 29th, 2022.
DC I-295 over Nicholson Street Bridge-BR. 1001, single lane closures needed for north and southbound on I-295. Closures will extend and include the following ramps: I-695 ramp to 295-EB, surrounding ramps from Pennsylvania Ave to 295 and ramps from MLK Jr. Ave to 295. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 8:00 PM and 5:30 AM, weather permitting on Sunday, April 24th through Friday, April 29th, 2022. Daytime lane closures will be between the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting Monday, April 25th through Friday, April 29th, 2022.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
