DDS, Let’s Celebrate Our VR Counselors and Specialists
Senate. Resolution 447 established March 22 as National Rehabilitation Counselors Appreciation Day. The legislation commends rehabilitation counselors “for their dedication and hard work in providing counseling to individuals with disabilities.”
Even in a pandemic, our colleagues within RSA continue to do an outstanding job supporting people with disabilities in obtaining, maintaining, and excelling in employment. Take a look at what they did.
- In FY21, RSA served 6,065 people with disabilities.
- There were 609 successful closures, 16 percent above the successful closures in FY20.
- More than 500, or 87% were employed in high-demand fields such as hospitality, customer service, and business/IT.
- The average wage was $17.33.
