Protest Period Reverts to 45-Days Effective February 5

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA GOVERNMENT

Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration

February 1, 2022

Effective Saturday, February 5, 2022, the protest period for alcohol and medical cannabis license applications will revert to 45-days.

Accordingly, Notices of Public Hearings submitted to the DC Register for February 11, 2022 will be the first set of protest notices with the original 45-day protest period duration. Notices are also published on ABRA’s website.

The Coronavirus Support Temporary Amendment Act of 2021, which expires on February 4, extended the public comment period from 45 days to 66 day to provide the public additional time at the onset of the pandemic to convene and consider alcohol and medical cannabis license applications.

Please direct any questions regarding the protest period modification to ABRA.legal@dc.gov.
