Temporary Lane Closures for Routine Bridge Maintenance on January 27 and 28, 2022

(Washington, D.C.) —The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for bridge and tunnel inspections beginning January 27^th through January 28, 2022, weather permitting.

OPERATIONAL SITE IS LISTED BELOW:

12^th Street Expressway under Independence Ave, Jefferson Drive, the Mall Area, and Madison Drive, alternating right and left lane closures of 12^th Street Expressway under Independence Ave, Jefferson Drive, the Mall area, and Madison Drive followed by a narrowing/partial lane closure of the ramp from 12^th Street, S.W./Independence Avenue, S.W. to 12^th Street Expressway on Thursday and Friday, January 27 and 28, 2022 during the hours of 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, weather permitting.

Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
