DDOT Traffic Advisory: Temporary Lane Closures in Multiple Locations for Bridge Preventive Maintenance from December 19 through December 24, 2021

Temporary Lane Closures in Multiple Locations for Bridge Preventive Maintenance from December 19 through December 24, 2021

(Washington, D.C.) -The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close lanes on the following roadways for bridge preventive maintenance construction activities beginning December 19^th through December 24^th, 2021, weather permitting.

Operation hours and locations are listed below:

New York Ave. over Anacostia, BR. 76- (Night) rotating closures based on activities needed for New York Ave. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closure will be between the hours of 8:00 PM and 4:00 AM, weather permitting Sunday, December 19^th through, Thursday December 23^rd, 2021.

New York Ave. over Anacostia, BR. 76- (Day) rotating closures based on activities needed for New York Ave. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closure will be between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting Monday, December 20^th through, Friday December 24^th, 2021.

9^th Street at Convention Center, BR.252- single lane closures needed on 9^th Street at Convention Center. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closure will be between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting Monday, December 20^th through, Friday December 24^th, 2021.

14^th Street over I-395- BR. 1134, single lane closures needed on 14^th Street Bridge and underneath on I-395. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closure will be between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting Monday, December 20^th through, Friday December 24^th, 2021.

Pedestrian Bridge over Arizona- BR. 140, single lane closures needed on Arizona Avenue. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closure will be between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting Monday, December 20^th through, Friday December 24^th, 2021.

Kenilworth Terrace over Watts Branch- BR.47, single lane closures with flagging operation needed on Kenilworth Terrace. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closure will be between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting Monday, December 20^th through, Friday December 24^th, 2021.

Kenilworth Ave. over East Capitol- BR. 84, alternating single lane closures needed on Kenilworth Avenue. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closure will be between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting Monday, December 20^th through, Friday December 24^th, 2021.

Military Road over Beach Drive- BR. 229, alternating single lane closures needed on Military Road. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closure will be between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting Monday, December 20^th through, Friday December 24^th, 2021.

Park Road over Piney Branch- BR. 25, alternating single lane closures needed on Park Road. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closure will be between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting Monday, December 20^th through, Friday December 24^th, 2021.

I-695 over Anacostia River- BR. 1416/1417, single lane closures needed on I-695 over Anacostia River. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closure will be between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting Monday, December 20^th through, Friday December 24^th, 2021.

Massachusetts Ave over Rock Creek Parkway- BR. 114, single lane closures needed on Massachusetts Avenue. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closure will be between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting Monday, December 20^th through, Friday December 24^th, 2021.

Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas.  Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
