DDOT Traffic Advisory: Temporary Lane Closures for Bridge and Tunnel Inspections from November 8 through November 23, 2021

Temporary Lane Closures for Bridge and Tunnel Inspections from November 8 through November 23, 2021 

(Washington, D.C.) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for bridge and tunnel inspections:

Connecticut Avenue, N.W. under Q Street, N.W., alternating right and left lane closures of Northbound Connecticut Avenue, N.W. under Q Street, N.W. followed by alternating right and left lane closures of Southbound Connecticut Avenue, N.W. under Q Street, N.W. on Monday, November 8, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

Key Bridge East Ramp to Whitehurst Freeway, right side narrowing/partial lane closure of Key Bridge East Ramp to Whitehurst Freeway on Thursday, November 11, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

Theodore Roosevelt Bridge over Potomac- BR.1200, rotating closures based on activities on the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closures will be between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting on Monday, November 1^st through Friday, November 12^th, 2021. During rotating closures on TR Bridge, 2 lanes of traffic will always remain open; depending on activity inbound and outbound.

Theodore Roosevelt Bridge over Potomac Parkway- BR.1201, single lane closure needed for Ramp A on Theodore Roosevelt Bridge (Next to Kennedy Center). One lane of traffic will remain open during the duration of the day. Lane closures will be between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting on Monday, November 1^st through Tuesday, November 23^rd, 2021.

Ramp C over I-395 & 9^th Street over I-395- BR.1107, single lane closure needed for the ramp underneath (I-395) and on-top (9^th Street). For both 9^th Street and Ramp C, a lane will remain open. Lane closures will be between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting on Monday, November 1^st through Friday, November 12^th, 2021.

 Kenilworth Ave by Nash Street- BR.67, alternating single lane closures needed for north and southbound on Kenilworth Ave. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closure will be between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting Monday, November 1^st through Friday, November 12^th, 2021

Southeast Freeway over South Capitol Street- BR.1104, rotating closures based on activities needed for Southeast Freeway. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Southeast Freeway will maintain 3 lanes of traffic, during the duration of repairs. Lane closures will be between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting Monday, November 1^st through Friday, November 12^th, 2021.

I-695 over Anacostia River -BR.1417, single lane closure needed for the northbound side of I-695 over Anacostia River. Lane closures will be between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting Monday, November 1^st through Friday, November 5^th, 2021.

Southeast Freeway over Parking Lot and Half Street- BR-1103, rotating closures based on activities needed for Southeast Freeway. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Southeast Freeway will maintain 3 lanes during the duration of repairs. Lane closures will be between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting Monday, November 1^st through Friday, November 12^th, 2021.

Kenilworth Avenue over Burroughs Avenue and I-295- B.19, alternating single lane closures needed for north and southbound on I-295. Burroughs Avenue Ramp B and North Ramp to Burroughs Avenue will require a single lane closure. Both ramps will always have one lane open during the duration of the day. Proper variable message board will be in place to notify the public of changes. Lane closure will be between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting Monday, November 1^st through Tuesday, November 23^rd, 2021.

Traffic controls will be in place to guide all users of the roadway through the work zone safely. Motorists should expect delays due to lane closures and are advised to stay alert and be observant of signage and road work crews while traveling in this area.
