Temporary Closure of Northbound Kenilworth Avenue Ramps and Northbound DC-295 Right Lane  from September 29 through October 6, 2021

(Washington, D.C.) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will be continuing roadwork along northbound and southbound Kenilworth Avenue starting on September 29 through October 6,2021, weather permitting.

 

The closures in the corridor will be as following:

  • Northbound Kenilworth Avenue Off-Ramp to Northbound DC-295 @ Polk Street, N.E.
  • Northbound DC-295 On-ramp to Northbound Kenilworth Avenue @ Polk Street, N.E.
  • Northbound Right Lane of DC-295 between Nannie Helen Burroughs Ave., NE and Eastern Ave., N.E.

Operational hours for this work will be 7:00am – 2:00pm daily.

 

Periodic lane closures will be required for equipment mobilization, utility upgrades, and pavement work, including guardrail installations associated with this location as part of multiple DDOT improvement projects along the I-295/DC 295 corridor.

 

Traffic controls will be in place to guide all users of the roadway through the work zones safely. Motorists should expect delays due to the lane closures and are advised to stay alert and be observant of signage and road work crews while traveling in this area.
