Temporary Lane Closures in Multiple Locations for Bridge and Tunnel Inspections from September 27 through October 14, 2021
(Washington, D.C.) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for bridge and tunnel inspections beginning September 27 through October 14, 2021, weather permitting.
Exit Ramp from I-395 SB to Virginia Ave, S.W. under Entrance Ramp from D Street, S.W. to I-395 SB, narrowing of Exit Ramp from I-395 SB to Virginia Ave, S.W. under Entrance Ramp from D Street, S.W. to I-395 SB on Monday, September 27, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
Connecticut Avenue, N.W. under Dupont Circle, N.W., alternating right and left lane closures of Northbound Connecticut Avenue, N.W. under Dupont Circle, N.W. followed by alternating right and left lane closures of Southbound Connecticut Avenue, N.W. under Dupont Circle, N.W. on Tuesday, September 28, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
East Capitol Street, S.E. over Anacostia River, right lane closure of Eastbound East Capitol Street, S.E. over Anacostia River followed by right lane closure of Westbound East Capitol Street, S.E. over Anacostia River on Wednesday and Thursday, September 29 and 30, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
16th Street, N.W. under Scott Circle, N.W., alternating right and left lane closures of Northbound 16th Street, N.W. under Scott Circle, N.W. followed by alternating right and left lane closures of Southbound 16th Street, N.W. under Scott Circle, N.W. on Friday, October 1, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
Virginia Avenue, N.W. under 23rd Street, N.W., alternating right and left lane closures of Eastbound Virginia Avenue, N.W. under 23rd Street, N.W. followed by alternating right and left lane closures of Westbound Virginia Avenue, N.W. under 23rd Street, N.W. on Tuesday, October 5, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
Anacostia Freeway under Pedestrian Bridge near 16th Street, S.E., right lane closure of Northbound Anacostia Freeway under the Pedestrian Bridge near 16th Street, S.E. followed by a left lane closure of the entrance ramp from Southbound I-695 to Northbound Anacostia Freeway under the Pedestrian Bridge near 16th Street, S.E. followed by a left lane closure of Southbound Anacostia Freeway under the Pedestrian Bridge near 16th Street, S.E. followed by a right lane closure of exit ramp from Southbound Anacostia Freeway to Northbound I-695 under the Pedestrian Bridge near 16th Street, S.E. on Wednesday, October 6, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.

Northbound South Capitol Street under Anacostia Freeway, alternating left and right lane closures of Northbound South Capitol Street under Anacostia Freeway on Tuesday, October 12, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
Northbound Anacostia Freeway over South Capitol Street, alternating right and left lane closures of Northbound Anacostia Freeway over South Capitol Street on Wednesday, October 13, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
Southbound Anacostia Freeway over South Capitol Street, alternating right and left lane closures of Southbound Anacostia Freeway over South Capitol Street on Thursday, October 14, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
