DDOT Traffic Advisory: Temporary Lane Closures in Multiple Locations for Bridge Preventive Maintenance from September 7 through September 10, 2021 

 

Temporary Lane Closures for Bridge Maintenance from September 7 through September 10, 2021 

 

(Washington, D.C.) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for bridge preventive maintenance construction activities beginning September 7 through September 10, 2021, weather permitting.

 

Operation hours and locations are listed below:

 

Benning Road over Anacostia River, single lane closures on Benning Road alternating between east and westbound lane on Tuesday, September 7 through Friday, September 10, 2021 during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting. 

 

Theodore Roosevelt Bridge over Potomac, alternating lane closures for both east and westbound traffic for on-going full depth deck repairs. Once Eastbound repairs are complete, will flip over to Westbound. Repairs on Westbound will require double right lane closures. Lane closures will be during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting on Tuesday, September 7 through Friday, September 10, 2021.

 

I-395 over 4^th Street, single lane closure with flagging operation underneath on 4^th Street. Lane closure will be during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00PM, weather permitting on Tuesday, September 7 through Friday, September 10, 2021

 

Military Road over Joyce Road and Luzon Stream, single lane closures on Military Road alternating between east and westbound lane on Tuesday, September 7 through Friday, September 10, 2021, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting. 

 

Ramp C over I-395 & 9^th Street over I-395 single lane closure needed for the ramp underneath (I-395) and on-top (9^th Street). Lane closures will be during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting on Tuesday, September 7 through Friday, September 10, 2021.

 

14^th Street over I-395, single lane closures on 14^th Street alternating between east and westbound lane on Tuesday, September 7 through Friday, September 10, 2021. Lane closures will be during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting. 

  

New Jersey Ave over CSX, single lane closures needed for New Jersey Ave (B-572). Lane closures will be during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting on Tuesday, September 7 through Friday, September 10, 2021

 

Anacostia Freeway over Shephard Parkway, single lane closure needed for Anacostia Freeway (B-1019). Lane closures will be during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting on Tuesday, September 7 through Friday, September 10, 2021

 

Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas.  Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures.  Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
