Temporary Lane Closures in Multiple Locations for Bridge Maintenance and Routine Bridge and Tunnel Inspection from August 20 through August 26, 2021
(Washington, D.C.) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for bridge preventive maintenance construction activities and routine bridge and tunnel inspections beginning August 20 through August 26, 2021, weather permitting.
Operation hours and locations are listed below:
Whitehurst Freeway Ramp to K Street (BR-0036), single lane closures on ramp on Friday, August 20, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
Whitehurst Freeway Ramp to I-66 (BR-1301), single lane closures on ramp on Friday, August 20, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
East Capitol Street under Anacostia Freeway (Kenilworth Avenue) (Northbound) and Anacostia Freeway (Southbound), alternating right and left lane closures of Eastbound East Capitol Street under Anacostia Freeway (Kenilworth Avenue)(Northbound) and Anacostia Freeway (Southbound) followed by alternating right and left lane closures of Westbound East Capitol Street under Anacostia Freeway (Kenilworth Avenue)(Northbound) and Anacostia Freeway (Southbound) on Monday, August 23, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
Inner Loop under the Ramp from Westbound I-66 to E Street, N.W., alternating a right shoulder closure and a left lane closure of Northbound Inner Loop under the Ramp from Westbound I-66 to E Street, N.W., followed by alternating a right shoulder closure and a left lane closure of Southbound Inner Loop under the Ramp from Westbound I-66 to E Street, N.W. on Tuesday, August 24, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
I-695 Northbound over 11th Street, S.E.; Southeast Boulevard; M Street, S.E.; and CSXT, a left lane closure of Northbound I-695 over 11th Street, S.E.; Southeast Boulevard; M Street, S.E.; and CSXT starting on Tuesday, August 24, 7:00 PM through Wednesday, August 25, 5:00 AM, weather permitting.
I-695 Southbound over 11th Street, S.E.; M Street, S.E.; and CSXT, a left lane closure of Southbound I-695 over 11th Street, S.E; M Street, S.E.; and CSXT starting on Tuesday, August 24, 7:00 PM through Wednesday, August 25, 5:00 AM, weather permitting.
Anacostia Freeway (Kenilworth Avenue) (Northbound) over East Capitol Street, a left lane closure of Anacostia Freeway (Kenilworth Avenue) (Northbound) over East Capitol Street on Thursday, August 26, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
Anacostia Freeway (Southbound) over East Capitol Street and Ramp F, a left lane closure of Anacostia Freeway (Southbound) over East Capitol Street and Ramp F on Thursday, August 26, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
