Temporary Lane Closures in Multiple Locations for Bridge Maintenance from August 16 through August 21, 2021
(Washington, D.C.) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for bridge preventive maintenance construction activities beginning August 16 through August 21, 2021, weather permitting.
Operation hours and locations are listed below:
Military Road over Joyce Road and Luzon Stream, single lane closures on Military Road alternating between east and westbound lane on Monday, August 16 thru Friday, August 20, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
Theodore Roosevelt Bridge over Potomac, alternating lane closures for both east and westbound traffic for on-going full depth deck repairs. Once Eastbound repairs are complete, will flip over to Westbound. Repairs on Westbound will require double right lane closures. Lane closures will be during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting on Saturday, August 14 thru Friday, August 20, 2021.
I-395 over 4th Street SE, single lane closure with flagging operation underneath on 4th Street. Lane closure will be during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00PM, weather permitting on Monday, August 16 thru Friday, August 20, 2021.
Kenilworth over Burroughs Ave NE, single lane closures alternating between Northbound and Southbound lanes to complete re-striping construction activities, weather permitting on Monday, August 16 thru Friday, August 20, 2021
Southern Ave. over Suitland Parkway, single lane closures required to complete preventive maintenance work, weather permitting on Monday, August 16 thru Friday, August 20, 2021 between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
14th Street Bridge over Potomac, single lane closures required to complete preventive maintenance work on the Northbound side, weather permitting on Wednesday, August 11 thru Friday 13, 2021 between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
Calvert St NW over Rock Creek, single lane closures required to complete preventive maintenance scour mitigation work, with flagging operations, weather permitting on Tuesday, August 17 thru Friday, August 20, 2021.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
