Temporary Lane Closures for Routine Bridge and Tunnel Inspections from August 17 through August 20, 2021
(Washington, D.C.) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for bridge and tunnel inspections:
I-695 Northbound over Anacostia River, a left lane closure of Northbound I-695 over Anacostia River starting on Tuesday, August 17, 7:00 PM through Wednesday, August 18, 5:00 AM, weather permitting.
Ramp from Southbound I-695 to Eastbound I-295 over Connector Ramps (Ramp from Southbound I-695 to Westbound I-295; Ramp from Eastbound I-295 to Northbound I-695; and Ramp from Westbound I-295 to 11th Street S.E., a right lane closure of the Ramp from Southbound I-695 to Eastbound I-295 over Connector Ramps starting on Tuesday, August 17, 7:00 PM through Wednesday, August 18, 5:00 AM, weather permitting.
I-695 Northbound over Anacostia River, a left lane closure of Northbound I-695 over Anacostia River starting on Thursday, August 19, 7:00 PM through Friday, August 20, 5:00 AM, weather permitting.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
