 Bridge and Tunnel Inspections
for the Week of August 2 

 

(Washington, D.C.) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for bridge preventive maintenance construction activities beginning August 2- 6, 2021, weather permitting.

 

Operational hours and locations are listed below:

  • Military Road over Joyce Road and Luzon Stream, single lane closures on Military Road alternating between east and west bound lane on Monday, August 2 thru Friday, August 6, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
  • Theodore Roosevelt Bridge over Potomac, alternating lane closures for both east and westbound traffic for on-going full depth deck repairs. Once Eastbound repairs are complete, will flip over to Westbound. Repairs on Westbound will require double right lane closures. Lane closures will be during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting on Monday, August 2 thru Friday, August 6.
  • I-395 over 4th Street, single lane closure with flagging operation underneath on 4th Street. Lane closure will be during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00PM, weather permitting on Monday, August 2 thru Friday, August 6.

 

Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
