Highlights (July 19-July 30)
Highlights include:
- Since March 30, 2020, the COVID-19 Health and Medical Branch has continued to support COVID-19 diagnostic sampling in the District. As of July 12, 2021, the District has supported 578,530 samples. The number of samples has increased by 5,499 since last reported on July 13.
- As of July 19, 2021, the District has administered 884,967 vaccine doses, which is an increase of 18,059 vaccine doses since last reported on June 30; 53.8% of District residents are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
- On Friday, July 23, 2021, DC Health released the District of Columbia COVID-19 Pandemic Health and Healthcare Recovery Report. With a focus on equity, this report provides an assessment of the District’s current and emerging health needs while offering solutions for improving DC’s health system in five domains: workforce, health information technology, health planning, and community health services. - The Mayor issued a new Mayor’s Order 2021-096 which updates the Public Emergency and ends the Public Health Emergency that had been in effect since March 22, 2020.

(WASHINGTON, DC) – The District’s reported data for Wednesday, July 28, 2021 includes 61 new positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the District’s overall positive case total to 50,329.
The District reported that one additional resident lost her life due to COVID-19.
Tragically, 1,149 District residents have lost their lives due to COVID-19.
