Temporary Lane Closure on I-295 Southbound between South Capitol Street SW and Chesapeake Street SW from July 12 through July 16, 2021 

                   

(Washington, DC) —The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will close the southbound left lane on I-295 between South Capitol St., SW and Chesapeake St., SW for roadwork beginning July 12 through July 16, 2021, weather permitting.

 

The roadwork will begin Monday, July 12, 2021 and continue through Friday, July 16, 2021 operating from 7AM-2PM daily, weather permitting.

 

Periodic lane closures will be required for equipment mobilization, utility upgrades, and pavement work, including guardrail installations associated with this location as part of multiple DDOT improvement projects along the I-295/DC 295 corridor.

 

Traffic controls, including signage, will be in place to guide motorists and pedestrians safely through the work zone. All users of the roadway are advised to stay alert and be observant of signage and work zones while traveling in this area.
