(Washington, DC) —The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for bridge and tunnel inspections beginning July 12 through July 15 2021; weather permitting.
Operational locations and hours are as follows:
H Street, N.E. over Washington Terminal Yard at Union Station (First Street, N.E., Railroads, and Second Street, N.E.), alternating left lane closure of Eastbound and Westbound H Street, N.E. over Washington Terminal Yard at Union Station on Monday, July 12 during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
First Street, N.E. under H Street, N.E., alternating right shoulder closures of Northbound and Southbound First Street, N.E., under H Street, N.E. on Tuesday, July 13 during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
South Capitol Street under Ramp F and Anacostia Freeway/I-295, alternating right and left lane closures of Southbound South Capitol Street under Ramp F and Anacostia Freeway/I-295 followed by alternating right and left lane closures of Northbound South Capitol Street under Ramp F and Anacostia Freeway/I-295 on Wednesday, July 14 during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
Ramp E/Northbound South Capitol Street to Anacostia Freeway/I-295 under Ramp F, ramp narrowing/shoulder closure of Ramp E/Northbound South Capitol Street to Anacostia Freeway/I-295 under Ramp F on Thursday, July 15 during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
Ramp F and Anacostia Freeway/I-295 over South Capitol Street and Ramp E, ramp narrowing/shoulder closure of Ramp F and Anacostia Freeway/I-295 over South Capitol Street on Thursday, July 15 during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
