Temporary Lane Closures for I-395 Sign Structure Improvement Project from July 6 through July 9, 2021                        

 

(Washington, DC)—The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close lanes, ramps and shoulders on the following roadways to perform construction activities along I-395 and I-695 for the replacement of signage and sign structures. Work is scheduled to take place starting Tuesday, July 6 through Friday, July 9, 2021, weather permitting.

 

These closure dates and times are contingent on suitable weather, field conditions, and/or adjacent construction activities. 

The following are the lane and shoulder closures that will be in place during the following days and time-periods.

Weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.:

  • Single Right Lane Closure on I-395 Northbound between 12th Street Expressway and 7th Street SW.

Weeknights from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following morning:

  • Triple Right Lane Closure on I-395 Northbound between Maine Avenue SW and Center Leg Freeway.
  • Full closure of the ramp from 9th Street Expressway to I-395 Northbound/I-695 Eastbound.
  • Full closure of the ramp from 7th Street SW to I-395 Northbound/I-695 Eastbound.

For the closures of the ramps from 7th Street SW and the 9th Street Expressway to I-395 Northbound, vehicles will be detoured via Maine Avenue SW, M Street SW, South Capitol Street, and Washington Avenue SW.
