Temporary Closure and Detour of Rock Creek Multi-Use Trail Starting June 21, 2021

(Washington, DC)—The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is advising all stakeholders to expect the temporary closure of the Rock Creek Park Multi-Use Trail between Broad Branch Rd. NW and Peirce Mill. The trail closure will begin on or about Monday, June 21, 2021, weather permitting, and be in place for approximately four months.

This trail closure is necessary to reconstruct the existing Rock Creek Park Multi-Use Trail as part of the Rock Creek Park Multi-Use Trail and Pedestrian Bridge project.

Temporary trail mats and detour signs will be in place to detour trail users around the work zone.

Once completed, the Rock Creek Park Multi-Use Trail and Pedestrian Bridge project will improve accessibility and connectivity to Rock Creek Park with improvements such as new and reconstructed trails, and a new 110-foot pedestrian bridge south of the Zoo Tunnel.
