Highlights (May 24-June 4)
Highlights include:
- Since March 30, 2020, the COVID-19 Health and Medical Branch has continued to support COVID-19 diagnostic sampling in the District, as of June 02, 2021, the District has supported 563,243 samples. The number of samples has increased by 5,177 since last reported on May 19.
- On Friday May 28, 2021, the District demobilized the Judiciary Square Testing Site. The District continues to plan to scale back other testing sites as the demand for COVID-19 testing has decreased.
- As of May 23, 2021, the District has administered 622,678 vaccine doses, which is an increase of 51,092 vaccine doses since last reported on May 19. 40.4% of District residents are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Today's Press Release and Data
(WASHINGTON, DC) – The District’s reported data for Thursday, June 3, 2021 includes 27 new positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the District’s overall positive case total to 49,068.
The District reported no additional COVID-19 related deaths.
Tragically, 1,136 District residents have lost their lives due to COVID-19.

Most District government managers have been directed to return to the workplace in the coming weeks and District government employees may now voluntarily and safely return to their pre-pandemic duty station within DC Health guidelines. All DC Health employees should prepare to report to their official, in-person duty station as early as July 12, 2021. Submit any questions you may have regarding returning to the office to returndchealth@dc.gov.
