DDOT TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Temporary Closures on Suitland Parkway and Firth Sterling Avenue SE from June 1 through June 14, 2021

Temporary Closures on Suitland Parkway and Firth Sterling Avenue SE from June 1 through June 14, 2021

     

(Washington, DC)—The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close the westbound lanes of Suitland Parkway between Firth Sterling Avenue SE and South Capitol Street SE/SW nightly from 9:00 pm to 5:00 am the next morning between June 1 and June 5, 2021.  

 

Both Firth Sterling Avenue SE between South Capitol Street SE and St. Elizabeth’s Avenue SE, and Howard Road SE between the WMATA garage access and Firth Sterling Avenue SE will also be closed nightly from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2021 to Friday, June 11, 2021, and continuously between Friday night June 11, 2021 and Monday morning, June 14, 2021.  These closures will be in place during three consecutive Washington Nationals game nights.

 

Marked detours will be in place during these closures. When Suitland Parkway is fully closed, both Howard Road SE and Firth Sterling Avenue SE will remain open to all traffic to accommodate the planned detours.  Likewise, when Howard Road SE and Firth Sterling Avenue SE are fully closed, Suitland Parkway will remain open to all traffic.
