DDOT TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Temporary Lane Closures on I-295 Southbound and I-295 Southbound Service Road from May 27 through June 2, 2021

Temporary Lane Closures on I-295 Southbound and I-295 Southbound Service Road from May 27 through June 2, 2021                  

     

(Washington, DC)—The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close double lanes on the following roadways to perform construction activities along the I-295/DC 295 corridor beginning May 27 through June 2, 2021, weather permitting. 

The specific lanes and closure hours are listed below:

  • Double lane closures on I-295 southbound between Nannie Helen Ave NE and Benning Road NE starting at 9:00pm to 5:00am from May 27 to May 28
  • Single lane closures on I-295 southbound service road between Nannie Helen Ave NE and Benning Road NE starting at 9:30am to 3:30pm from June 1 to June 2

Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures.  Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
