Temporary Closures on I-295 Southbound from May 15 through May 18, 2021

     

(Washington, DC)—The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) continues roadwork along the Kenilworth Avenue service roadways and will close the ramp from the southbound service roadway to I-295 southbound and the right lane on I-295 between Nannie Helen Burroughs Ave. NE and Eastern Ave., N.E. 

 

The roadwork which begins Saturday, May 15, 2021 and continues through Monday, May 17 to Tuesday, May 18, 2021 weather permitting, will be done during the following operational times as indicated below:

  • Ramp: Saturday, May 15, 2012 from 7AM-7PM; Monday, May 17 - Tuesday, May 18, 2021, 10AM-3PM.
  • SB I-295 Right Lane: , May 15, 2012 from 7AM-7PM; Mon., May 17 – Tue., May 18, 2021, 7AM-2PM.

Periodic lane closures will be required for equipment mobilization, utility upgrades, and pavement work, including guardrail installations associated with this location as part of multiple DDOT improvement projects along the I-295/DC 295 corridor.

 

Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas.  Motorists should anticipate lite-to-moderate delays due to the lane closures.  Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
