MEMORANDUM
TO:
District Employees
FROM:
Ventris C. Gibson, Director, Department of Human Resources
DATE:
Wednesday, April 28, 2021
SUBJECT:
Update on DC Government Employee Eligibility for COVID-19 Vaccine
All DC, Maryland and Virginia residents ages 16 and up are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine in their state of residence.
April 28 is the last day to pre-register in DC for the vaccine:
DC residents, go to dc.gov or call 1-855-363-0333.
Maryland residents, go to maryland.gov or call 1-855-634-6829.
Virginia residents, go to virginia.gov or call 877-829-4682.
Beginning on Saturday, May 1, the District will transition to the use of 11 high-capacity, walk-up, no appointment needed vaccination sites.
The walk-up sites will be in addition to the pharmacies, clinics, and health care providers that are also administering the vaccines across the city, region, and nation. These sites will operate their own scheduling systems. More information is available at vaccinefinder.org.
As a reminder, as a DC Government employee, you are provided two (2) hours of administrative leave to receive the COVID-19 vaccination, per vaccination shot, if you are scheduled to receive the shot during hours for which you would otherwise be scheduled to work.
We also need you to reach out to your friends, family, and neighbors and talk to them about their plans to pre-register and get vaccinated. The vaccines currently being administered are safe, effective, and the best way to protect yourself, your loved ones, and our community against COVID-19.
For more information on the COVID-19 vaccine in the District, and to sign-up for regular updates, visit coronavirus.dc.gov/vaccine.
All regional residents ages 16 and up.
The following employees may still pre-register this week through vaccinate.dc.gov:
All school and childcare workers, regardless of whether you are reporting in person or not.
Individuals currently reporting in person (or scheduled to report on a date certain) to their DC Government workplace.
