Temporary Ramp Closure on P Street NW Beginning April 14, 2021

(Washington, DC) -- The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is advising all stakeholders to expect the temporary closure of the P street NW ramp from southbound Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway NW beginning April 14 2021 through June 15,2021, weather permitting.

The ramp closure will begin on or about Tuesday, April 13, 2021, weather permitting, and be in place for approximately three months.

This ramp closure is necessary to construct new sidewalk and sidewalk ramps to create new access to the Rock Creek Park Multi-Use Trail from P Street NW and Rose Park as part of the Rock Creek Park Multi-Use Trail and Pedestrian Bridge project.

Traffic controls, including signage, will be in place to detour traffic through the work zone. Vehicular traffic will be detoured to continue southbound on the Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway to the Pennsylvania Avenue NW ramp.

Once completed, the Rock Creek Park Multi-Use Trail and Pedestrian Bridge project will improve accessibility and connectivity to Rock Creek Park with improvements such as new and reconstructed trails, and a new 110-foot pedestrian bridge south of the Zoo Tunnel.
