Temporary Right Lane Closure on I-295 Northbound at Chesapeake Street SW Begin April 5

(Washington, D.C.) —The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will close the northbound right lane on I-295 at Chesapeake Street SW as part of the ongoing reconstruction of the interchange beginning April 5 and continuing through April 6, 2021, weather permitting.

The temporary closure will be in place from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Periodic lane closures will be required for equipment mobilization, utility upgrades, and pavement work, including guardrail installations associated with this location as part of multiple DDOT improvement projects along the I-295/DC 295 corridor.

Traffic controls will be in place to guide all users of the roadway through the work zone safely. Motorists should expect delays due to the lane closures and are advised to stay alert and be observant of signage and road work crews while traveling in this area.
