Intermittent Lane Closures for the Rehabilitation of Massachusetts Avenue NW Continuing Through April 9, 2021

(Washington, DC)—The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is advising all stakeholders the intermittent closing of travel lanes on northbound and southbound Massachusetts Avenue NW from Sheridan Circle NW to Florida Avenue NW. Lane closures will continue occurring one lane at a time during the off-peak hours of 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday through Friday, April 9, 2021, weather permitting.

There will also continue to be a lane closure on eastbound Florida Avenue NW from Massachusetts Avenue NW to R Street NW through Friday, April 9, 2021, weather permitting.

These intermittent lane closures are necessary to complete test pitting related to the Rehabilitation of Massachusetts Avenue NW (from 20th Street to Waterside Drive) project.

Traffic controls, including signage, will be in place to guide motorists and pedestrians safely through the work zone. All users of the roadway are advised to stay alert and be observant of signage and work zones while traveling in this area.

Once completed, the Rehabilitation of Massachusetts Avenue NW project will include improvements such as sidewalks, streetlights, green infrastructure, and other streetscape elements.
