Temporary Rose Park Trail Closure to Start on March 31, 2021

(Washington, DC)—The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is advising all stakeholders to be aware of the temporary closure of Rose Park Trail in Georgetown between P Street NW to M Street NW. The trail closure will begin on or about Wednesday, March 31, 2021, weather permitting, and will be in place for approximately four months.

This trail closure is necessary to reconstruct the existing Rose Park Trail as part of the Rock Creek Park Multi-Use Trail and Pedestrian Bridge project.

Traffic controls, including signage, will be in place to detour trail users through the work zone. Trail users will be detoured to the Rock Creek Park Trail between Pennsylvania Avenue NW and P Street NW.

Once completed, the Rock Creek Park Multi-Use Trail and Pedestrian Bridge project will improve accessibility and connectivity to Rock Creek Park with improvements such as new and reconstructed trails, and a new 110-foot pedestrian bridge south of the Zoo Tunnel.
