Northbound I-295 Ramp Shift for New Exit 4 Ramp and Permanent Closure of Exit 3B Ramp Starting March 25, 2021

     

(Washington, DC)—The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will begin operations for the opening of a new ramp (Exit 4) on northbound I-295 to access South Capitol Street SE, Howard Road SE, and Nationals Park on the evening of March 25, 2021. As a result, the existing ramp (Exit 3B) will be permanently closed by 5:00am March 26, 2021.

 

This shift will start with left or right lane closures and potential full traffic stoppages along northbound I-295, beginning at 8:00 p.m. on March 25, 2021. This will be followed by a full closure of Suitland Parkway SE between Firth Sterling Avenue SE and South Capitol Street SE starting at 9:00 p.m. The shift from the permanently closed ramp ((Exit 3B) to the new ramp (Exit 4) will be completed by 5:00 a.m. on March 26, 2021, when all lanes of traffic will be restored.
