Highlights (March 1-March 12)
Highlights include:
- Since March 30, 2020, the COVID-19 Health and Medical Branch has continued to support COVID-19 diagnostic sampling in the District, as of March 10, 2020, the District has supported 487,411 samples. The number of samples has increased by 23,030 since last reported on February 24.
- On Wednesday March 10, 2021, the District opened its online pre-registration system for COVID-19 vaccination appointments. The system will randomly send out appointments to eligible persons. Once a person receives their email, call, or text, they will have 48 hours to make an appointment in the system before their link expires. To pre-register for appointments visit vaccinate.dc.gov or call the call center at 1-855-363-0333.
- DC Health, Health and Medical Branch, Epidemiology Surveillance and Investigation Group finished the COVID-19 Seroprevalence survey. This survey utilized seroprevalence to determine the extent of transmission in the community to help inform decisions about prevention and control of COVID-19. The team independently prepared and submitted two manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication, and also collaborated with Children's National Medical Center to prepare and submit a manuscript that was recently accepted and will be published in the Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal this July.

(WASHINGTON, DC) – The District’s reported data for Thursday, March 11, 2021 includes 154 new positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the District’s overall positive case total to 42,282. The District reported no additional COVID-19 related deaths.
Tragically, 1,038 District residents have lost their lives due to COVID-19.
