DDOT TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Temporary Lane Closures for Bridge and Tunnel Inspections from March 6 through March 11, 2021

 

(Washington, DC)—The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for bridge and tunnel inspections beginning March 6-11 2011, weather permitting:

 

Benning Road EB and WB over Kenilworth Avenue NE, right lane closure of Eastbound Benning Road over Kenilworth Avenue followed by a right lane closure of Westbound Benning Road over Kenilworth Avenue on Saturday, March 6 during the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM

 

Northbound South Capitol Street, S.W. over the Anacostia River and Southbound South Capitol Street, S.W. over the Anacostia River, alternating right and left lane closures of Northbound South Capitol Street, S.W. over the Anacostia River followed by alternating right and left lane closures of Southbound South Capitol Street, S.W. over the Anacostia River on Monday, March 8, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM

 

9^th Street Expressway, S.W. under D Street, S.W., alternating right and left lane closures of Southbound 9^th Street Expressway, S.W. under D Street, S.W. on Monday, March 8, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM

 

I-295 Northbound (Anacostia Freeway) under 11^th Street, S.E. and I 295 Southbound (Anacostia Freeway) Off-Ramp to 11th St., S.E., right shoulder closure of I-295 Northbound under 11^th Street S.E. and I 295 Southbound Off-Ramp to 11th St., S.E. on Tuesday, March 9, during the hours of 10:00AM and 3:00 PM

 

I-295 Northbound (Anacostia Freeway) Ramp to I-695 (SE Freeway) under 11^th Street, S.E., left shoulder closure of I-295 Northbound (Anacostia Freeway) Ramp to I-695 (SE Freeway) under 11^th Street, S.E., on Tuesday, March 9, during the hours of 10:00AM and 3:00 PM

 

Ramp for Southbound Center Leg I-395 to Eastbound Southeast Freeway (I-695) over Ramp for Eastbound Southwest Freeway (I-395) to Northbound Center Leg of I-395, alternating right and left lane closures of the ramp which connects Southbound Center Leg I-395 to Eastbound Southeast Freeway (I-695) over the ramp that connects Eastbound Southwest Freeway (I-395) to Northbound Center Leg of I-395 on Wednesday, March 10, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM

 

Benning Road EB and WB over Kenilworth Avenue, right lane closure of Eastbound Benning Road over Kenilworth Avenue followed by a right lane closure of Westbound Benning Road over Kenilworth Avenue on Thursday, March 11 during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM

 

Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas.  Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures.  Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
