(Washington, DC)—The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to begin road and sidewalk work in multiple locations on Pennsylvania Avenue NW from 3rd Street NW to 15th Street NW starting on or about Tuesday, March 2, 2021.
The contractor is authorized to work Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Construction is scheduled to be completed by Tuesday, March 23, 2021, weather permitting.
Work will include repairs to sidewalks (brick and pavers), concrete in crosswalks, centerline traffic signal islands, brick gutter, steel bollards and manhole covers. Both the centerline bike lane and the roadway will be affected.
Curbside parking may not be allowed on some blocks of Pennsylvania Avenue NW in the work zone during the construction working days. Parking restriction signs will be posted at least 72 hours in advance at locations where parking will not be allowed.
Traffic control devices will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling around this work location and to be observant of the work zone. Bicyclists and motorists are cautioned to watch for work zones and potential detours.
