Highlights (February 15-February 26)
Highlights include:
- Since March 30, 2020 the COVID-19 Health and Medical Branch has continued to support COVID-19 diagnostic sampling in the District, as of February 24, 2021 the District has supported 464,381 samples. The number of samples has increased by 18,351 since last reported on February 12.
- As of this week, the following populations are now eligible for the vaccine in Washington, DC: individuals who work in health care settings; members of the Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department; residents of long-term and intermediate care facilities and residents of community residential facilities/group homes; DC residents who are 65 years old and older; individuals experiencing homelessness; members of the Metropolitan Police Department; Continuity of District Government personnel; Department of Corrections employees and residents; teachers and staff who are, or will be, working in person at a traditional or public charter school; child care workers and teachers and staff at independent schools in DC; individuals who work in a grocery store setting; outreach workers in health, human, and social services; individuals who work in manufacturing; individuals who work in food packaging; DC residents 16-64 years old with qualifying medical conditions. - From March 30, 2020 – February 22, 2021, DC Medical Reserve Corp (DC MRC) members have volunteered 38,159.75 hours to the COVID-19 response.

Today's Press Release and Data
(WASHINGTON, DC) – The District’s reported data for Thursday, February 25, 2021 includes 162 new positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the District’s overall positive case total to 40,284.
The District reported that four additional residents lost their lives due to COVID-19.
- 65-year-old male
- 68-year-old male
- 76-year-old female
- 85-year-old female
Tragically, 1009 District residents have lost their lives due to COVID-19.
