DDOT TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Temporary Lane Closures for Bridge and Tunnel Inspections from February 16 through February 20, 2021

Temporary Lane Closures for Bridge and Tunnel Inspections from February 16 through February 20, 2021

 

(Washington, DC)—The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for bridge and tunnel inspections, weather permitting:

 

  • I-695/SW Freeway over South Capitol Street & Ramp G, alternating right and left lane closures of eastbound I-695/SW Freeway over South Capitol Street & Ramp G followed by alternating right and left lane closures of westbound I-695/SW Freeway over South Capitol Street & Ramp G on Tuesday, February 16, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
  • Ramp from I-66 to Whitehurst Freeway over Potomac Parkway and Rock Creek, narrowing/partial lane closure of the ramp on Wednesday, February 17, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
  • Ramp from Water Street NW to Rock Creek Parkway NW. This work will be performed from Monday, February 15, 2021 thru March 1, 2021, weather permitting. The ramp closures will take place after the morning rush hour from 9:30 am and the lanes will be open at the start of the evening rush hour at 3:30 each day. There will be detour signs in place to insure safe traffic movement around this ramp

  • Ramp for Southbound Center Leg of I-395 to Westbound Southeast Freeway (I-695) under Railroad Bridges and Ramp for Eastbound Southwest Freeway (I-395) to Northbound Center Leg of I-395 under the Ramp for Southbound Center Leg I-395 to Eastbound Southeast Freeway (I-695), alternating right and left lane closures of the ramp which connects Southbound Center Leg of I-395 to Westbound Southeast Freeway (I-695) under the railroad bridges followed by alternating right and left lane closures of the ramp which connects Eastbound Southwest Freeway (I-395) to Northbound Center Leg of I-395 under the ramp which connects Southbound Center Leg I-395 to Eastbound Southeast Freeway (I-695) on Tuesday, February 16, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM
  • Ramp for Eastbound Southwest Freeway (I-395) to Northbound Center Leg of I-395 under the Ramp for Southbound Center Leg I-395 to Eastbound Southeast Freeway (I-695) and Ramp for Westbound Southeast Freeway (I-695) to Northbound Center Leg of I-395 under Railroad Bridges, alternating right and left lane closures of the ramp which connects Eastbound Southwest Freeway (I-395) to Northbound Center Leg of I-395 under the ramp which connects Southbound Center Leg I-395 to Eastbound Southeast Freeway (I-695) followed by alternating right and left lane closures of the ramp which connects Westbound Southeast Freeway (I-695) to Northbound Center Leg of I-395 under the railroad bridges on Wednesday, February 17, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM
  • Ramp for Westbound Southeast Freeway (I-695) to Northbound Center Leg of I-395 under Railroad Bridges, alternating right and left lane closures of the ramp which connects Westbound Southeast Freeway (I-695) to Northbound Center Leg of I-395 under the railroad bridges on Thursday, February 18 during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM
  • Ramp for Southbound Center Leg I-395 to Eastbound Southeast Freeway (I-695) over Ramp for Eastbound Southwest Freeway (I-395) to Northbound Center Leg of I-395, alternating right and left lane closures of the ramp which connects Southbound Center Leg I-395 to Eastbound Southeast Freeway (I-695) over the ramp that connects Eastbound Southwest Freeway (I-395) to Northbound Center Leg of I-395 on Friday, February 19, during the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM

Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas.  Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures.  Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
