DDOT Traffic Advisory: Temporary Lane Closures for Bridge and Tunnel Inspections

Temporary Lane Closures for Bridge and Tunnel Inspections 

 

(Washington, D.C.) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on the following roadways for bridge and tunnel inspections:

 

  • Anacostia Freeway (I-295) over CSX Railroad alternating right and left lane closures of Northbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295). This will happen on Tuesday, January 12, from 10:00am to 3:00pm followed by alternating right and left lane closures of Southbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295) on Wednesday, January 13, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, weather permitting. 

 

  • 9th Street Expressway, S.W., under C Street narrowing of the ramp to the southbound 9th Street Expressway, SW, followed by a left southbound lane closure on Wednesday, January 13, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, weather permitting. 

     

Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas.  Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures.  Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
